Mercado Global
Stationary system designed for a class project. Done for a real company but not with the intention of selling it to them.

The Client:
A fair trade company that markets hand made crafts to high end consumers. Products are generally contemporary but with a native twist. Company conceptualized by founder while in Guatemala on university studies.
Concept:
I wanted to carry the contemporary feel of the design but incorporate subtle Native elements. These happen to be Pueblo Native American patterns. I feel that they worked because they were generic enough to communicate native, and maintained clean lines.
The bird icon is a bird that is native to Guatemala, called a Brown Violet. I felt that it was important to keep a local element to the system. It would also work as a mascot for the company.
Thanks to

for his initial critiques.
Thank you!
bravo George~
You totally got the 'native' look down, especially on the envelopes and card. I totally get that impression within seconds because that's what I think when I see it. You've accomplished this by using textures and patterns quite nicely.
On top of that, it's clean and corporate. Nice work.
